Monday, December 14th, 2009We have decided to change our blog a bit on BravoBride. When I was planning my own wedding it was at times stressful and overwhelming so I wanted to make our blog a place where brides could take a break from planning and just have a laugh. In addition to blog giveaways and wedding tips we decided to start posting funny, silly and awkward wedding photos daily. Yes, weddings are beautiful and romantic but they are also full of unexpected humorous moments and we wanted to be able to show that side to our readers too. Story behind the image told by Holly, the photographer: So we were walking from the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara across the street to the public beach. This little boy runs up to us and says “Congratulations.” All three of us were in shock and giggling to ourselves. His mother, then came up and said, “He has been talking about getting married so he can have wedding cake all week. I guess he wanted to come over and say Congratulations.”
I call this one ‘Honey, moon’ for obvious reasons.

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009Monique Lhuillier, who is the dress designer behind such celebrity weddings of Alicia Silverstone, Kate Walsh, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Britney Spears, Jewel, Giuliana Rancic, Shanna Moakler and Pink, has launched her own bridesmaid line for the public.
The dresses are cocktail style and come in hues of green, yellow, navy, silver, pink and coral. The dresses are so chic that they can be worn again and again, and no one would know it was a bridesmaids dress.
Most of the dresses are in the $300 price range and are available online at www.moniquelhuillier.com. The long yellow one is my favorite!
Alice in Wonderland & Jorge Manuel
Saturday, December 5th, 2009Wedding dress designer Jorge Manuel themed his Spring 2010 wedding dress collection after Alice in Wonderland. Jorge Manuel is fairly new to the scene and was previously an architect. His architectural background is very present in his dresses. His gowns are gorgeous and the photos are interesting and a little creepy at the same time. Especially, the last one.

Sad News for Brides Everywhere

Time Inc. has announced they will be closing InStyle Weddings magazine. The last issue of the quarterly publication will hit news stands on Dec. 25 and will remain on sale until March 5.
The main reason for the magazine to be cancelled is the down economy. InStyle Weddings will now be another magazine added to the list of cancelled wedding magazines. Conde Nast closed Modern Bride and Elegant Bride less than a month ago in October. What a bummer! This was one of my favorite’s to read when I was getting married.
