Headpieces for Brides

Monday, April 29th, 2013

Ladies, get your magical wands and fairy dust because it’s Fab Finds of the week! We found a cute little shop on Etsy that you’re gonna love. They’re called Whichgoose and they hand-make pretty hair accessories for brides like floral headbands, flower crowns, and “woodland wonderment” (that’s fairy-talk for lovely accessories). The flower headpieces are absolutely gorgeous and are perfect accessories for all you brides-to-be. Here are 8 of our favorite fab finds from Whichgoose.

1. Stop to smell the roses. This flower crown features pink roses and tiny peachy-orange flowers.

2. Ahh so lovely, very pretty with the low-side up do. A simple yet elegant headpiece made with ivory flowers and ivory berry buds.

3. This headpiece is made with dried flowers and preserved flowers. It’s like a pretty botanical garden.

4. Frolic in the fields and pick your bouquet of dandelions. What a lovely woodland crown for an outdoor country wedding.

5. An ivory rose headpiece made with pine cone! Quite enchanting like the delicate rose in “The Beauty and the Beast.”

6. A bit of vintage theme is this tiara strung with pearls and wispy white flowers. It’d be gorgeous with a vintage lace wedding dress.

7.  Here’s another pearl headpiece – the bridal halo. The vintage glass chandelier flower beads adds a bit of a boho feel.

8. For a darling bridal look, go with this wedding headband. We like the bloom of pink flowers and black berries.

Check out Whichgoose on Etsy for more bridal accessories like wedding tiaras and crowns. We especially like the handmade flower hair pieces which are pretty accessories to wear on your wedding day. What type of hair accessory will you be wearing for your big day?

Laser Cut Wedding Invites – A Popular Paper Trend

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Laser cut details are becoming very popular in wedding invitations and accessories. These specially created pieces could be on the same scale of beauty as works of art. Each decoration is created individually by using cutting edge technology that allows for an incredibly intricate design.

This gorgeous laser cut booklet covers from KatBluStudio could be used for wedding programs or invitations and incorporates the delicate yet popular damask design in a personalized way.

Laser cut invitations are so unique and will hopefully leave your guests feeling excited to see what other details could be included in your big day.

Laser cut invites can be customized with any level of detail. Create an entire custom made project or perhaps specially detailed accents like the gorgeous gate on the invite above.

Laser cut items are not limited to wedding invitations and programs; wedding guest favors can be enhanced with some laser detailing as well.  Everyone loves Jordan almonds and packaging them in these customizable laser cut favor boxes will keep your guests enjoying their treats in a memorable and creative way.

If you are looking for an especially affordable particularly unique way of customizing any theme then laser cut paper products are the way to go. These Eiffel towers would be perfect for a French themed wedding!

Fairytale weddings can become more magical with these laser cut carriages and may even get your guests feeling like royalty at your grand event.

Thinking outside the glass? Laser cut paper details can enhance every detail of your wedding and now your guests will never lose track of their glass during the reception. These delicate and beautiful glass markers from Rocheleau Designs could bring the idea of sharpies on red cups to your wedding in a classy way.

Cupcake towers are a popular trend for wedding receptions and adding a little detail to these tasty treats can make all the difference. These cupcake wraps from Back to Zero are so unique and add just the right detail to enhance the beauty and artistry that is a wedding cupcake.

We love when the new couple has a special area dedicated to them at their receptions. These laser cut signs give a beautiful vintage detail without breaking the bank and can be easily preserved for memories after the event.

Laser cut weddings can be an especially beautiful and incredibly unique way to customize your wedding and leave your guests completely enveloped in your theme and vision. Happy planning!

4 Ways to Save Big on Your Wedding Dress

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

1. Buy a sample gown
Buying a sample gown is a great way to save big money on your big day without compromising on style! As opposed to ordering your own custom gown, simply purchasing the boutiques dress from the floor can help you make your budget go further! Just make sure to check the dress for any possible stains and tears as it has of course been tried on before by other shoppers. As long as you keep this in mind though, you could make your wedding dress dreams come true without breaking the bank! Sample wedding gown availability differs from each bridal boutique to the next but check out these great ones we even found online!

Jim Hjelm 8903
This sample Jim Hjelm style 8903 from Forrest Paper and Bridal Company is a modified A-line bridal gown, strapless empire pleated bodice accented with crystal flower detail, pleated watteau back and chapel train. And because it’s a sample gown, it’s 52% off the retail price.

Watters 9050b wedding dress
This Watters 9050b gown is a silk shantung strapless bias pin fold gown with full a-line skirt. It was originally $1750 but the sample version is just $750!

2. Buy a white bridesmaid dress
While bridesmaid dresses are typically much less expensive than a gown classified for the bride, many of them are just as elegant and beautiful as the gowns you may pay the big bucks for. Particularly if you are open to wearing an off white shade or incorporating other colors in a sash or accents – this could be the money saving option that’s right for you.

Particularly if you are planning a black and white wedding, this sweet dress is elegantly simple, with clean lines and flattering fit! Not to mention… it’s under $100!

This elegant bridesmaid dress, at only $136, features a beautiful a-line neckline and soft ruffles. Totally do-able as a wedding dress!

—————

3. Buy a preowned wedding dress
If you’re determined to find that designer gown that works in your budget, buying a used wedding dress can be a great choice! For the most part, bridal gowns are only worn for that one special day and after a professional cleaning, can be as good as new! Not to mention, buying used is a great way to go green.

Jasmine F473 wedding dress
This mermaid style Jasmine F473 ivory dress has a sweetheart neckline and features cascading flowers that flow into a semi-cathedral train. It’s almost 30% off retail price and was never worn by the previous owner.

used Priscilla of Boston wedding dresses
At 40% off, you can steal this Priscilla of Boston Maeve designer gown for far less than a designer price! Not to mention, we love the pockets.

—————

4. Buy a gorgeous non-bridal formal gown
While not specifically designed as bridal gowns, formal dresses in shades of white and ivory can be perfect on your wedding day as well. Far less expensive than bridal dresses, it’s a great way to slash your budget while not losing out on fun embellishments and fashion forward touches.

bcbg wedding dressIf you’re feeling bold, this sexy Grecian style is a stunner. From BCBG, it’s about $350 and packs a load of style!

We’re crazy about the detailing on this stunning drop-waist gown from Sue Wong. Listed as a prom dress this could so easily work as a wedding gown. Ruffles, beading, and embroidery oh my!

It just takes a little imagination and research and you can find almost any gown within your budget!
