bicycle wedding theme big day

Photo from Before the Big Day

We say the couple that cycles together, stays together. So throw a fun off-the-beaten-path bicycle-themed wedding! It’s spring after all, and with sunny warm weather, it’s the perfect time to ride a bike. And if you and your man love going for long bike rides, then you’re sure to love a bicycle wedding theme. It’s such a fun idea you can get super creative with from the invitations to riding with your guests. Here’s some inspiration to get your gears turning!

1. Send out chic bicycle chevron print invitations to all your guests. We say, “BYOB!” (Bring your own bike because it’s dinner and biking.)

Photo from Party Simplicity

2. Depending on when and where your wedding is, it can get really warm. Set out a bicycle woven basket with hand fans. Your guests will greatly appreciate them.

3. Here are some cute wedding favors – bicycle bells. Everyone will be hootin’ and hollerin’ and ringin’ for the newlyweds!

4. AHH-DORBS! Let the kiddos have fun too. Send the ring bearer and flower girl down the aisle on a tricycle.

5. Say your I-do’s and kiss your husband under your very own bicycle wedding arch.

6. After the ceremony, hop on your bikes (guests too) and ride over to the reception party. This will be a ride you’ll always remember, plus a great photo op.

7. Decorate your big cake with bicycle designs or add a bicycle cake topper.

8. And with cake, things are sure to get messy. Bicycle-print napkins? Yes, please!

Warm sunny weather is the perfect time to dust off the bikes. If you’re a cycling couple or just looking for a fun wedding trend, go bicycling! Keep it simple with bicycle-designed invitations and cake, or encourage everyone to ride their bikes to your big day. What type of bike would you ride to a wedding?

Vintage Wedding Card Holder – Fab Finds

Monday, May 6th, 2013

Vintage anything is what we crave! Timeless and beautiful means whatever is vintage, will always be enjoyed. We here at Bravo Bride are especially excited to share our fab finds of the week from Etsy store, Southbury Treasures. They make super cute vintage wedding cardholders which are customizable to your wedding’s color theme. Whether you want a white, mint, or pink cardholder, or whether you want it decorated with a rose or a peacock feather, you can have it however you’d like!

Southbury Treasure specializes in vintage birdcage wedding card holders. After your wedding, this will be your keepsake, filled with cards with lovely messages from your friends and family.

A beautiful birdcage is great for decorating a vintage wedding. Hang up the cages with adorable little birds (we recommend fake birds!) or just as-is.

The cardholders are even pretty table center pieces or to leave at the gift table. Collect money and gift cards all in a place everyone will see.

You can buy sets and use them as table markers, labeling the cards with a table number. You can even use it as signs at your different food stations.

Southbury Treasures also designs card box holder suitcases. Very big and spacious, inside you can add your personal touches with actual objects of special meaning like a bottle of your favorite wine.

We love the idea of reusing these suit cases as home decor. Stack em up in the living room to us as storage. Then toss in some of your books, a throw blanket, and a few board games.

Once the two of you finally get a house together, you’ll be so happy you got a mailbox wedding card holder. Get this in any style of font and text that you want. Then afterwards, plop in front of your new home.

Check out more of Southbury Treasures’ goodies online at Etsy!

Your Wedding Will Never Look Better

Friday, February 8th, 2013

When I got married several years ago I decided not to rent table linens because of the added expense. However, the right linens can transform a space and I know they would have added a much needed pop of color to our reception. That’s why I love YourChairCovers.com. They sell table linens at below rental prices and their customer service is excellent. After your big day is over you can re-sell them or use them again at another event. So much smarter than renting! Here’s a small selection of the wide variety they offer on their site.

afforadable chair coversFrom satin and pinwheel to spandex chair covers, you can find the perfect fit for your wedding theme. Easily transform a boring chair from drab to fab in a few minutes!

affordable tableclothesThese tableclothes only look expensive but they’re actually very affordable. Your Chair Covers has a huge selection of styles and colors.

affordable overlaysMix and match colors and textures with table overlays. Choose from organza, satin, embroidered or even a damask pattern.

affordable tablerunnersA simple and cost effective way to add a pop of color is with a table runner. Prices start as low as $1.49. Now that is a good deal!

Finally, you can’t forget about the napkins. They’re the last little detail that makes a reception table so special. Available in a variety of colors, you can definitely find one that matches your wedding color scheme.

I personally used YourChairCovers.com to buy a tablecloth a few months ago. The quality and price was amazing and the shipping was super fast. I love companies that go above and beyond to provide excellent service and a great product. For more information, please visit their website.

Fabulous Find – Allisa Jacobs

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013

Oh how I love a Fab Find and this week’s clutches by Allisa Jacobs are truly fabulous! Allisa’s story starts with her searching for just the right bag to take to a friend’s wedding, finding herself with no winner, she decided to design her own. Sounds like it was love at first design! Wednesday, December 26th, 2012

If you want a unique wedding bouquet that will last forever then you’re going to love The Ritzy Rose. Jen, the owner of the shop, has worked hard to earn not only a celebrity clientele, but a bevy of brides across the globe. After creating a custom jewelry bouquet for Miranda Lambert’s wedding to Blake Shelton in 2011, she received national coverage in magazines and the news. Miranda’s bouquet graced the pages and covers of US Weekly, People Country Edition, and was featured on E! News and Access Hollywood, and countless international blogs. Take a peak at her work below and you’ll understand why!
