We’re going to post our ‘awkward wedding photo of the day’ later this afternoon but I had to share this fun cookie favor from Diane at CCC Gifts. They just started to create cookie favors inspired by bridesmaid gowns. These custom sugar cookies are made from a special recipe, frosted with royal icing and available in vanilla or chocolate. Time Inc. has announced they will be closing InStyle Weddings magazine. The last issue of the quarterly publication will hit news stands on Dec. 25 and will remain on sale until March 5.
The main reason for the magazine to be cancelled is the down economy. InStyle Weddings will now be another magazine added to the list of cancelled wedding magazines. Conde Nast closed Modern Bride and Elegant Bride less than a month ago in October. What a bummer! This was one of my favorite’s to read when I was getting married.
There’s an old saying about love being in the details. To personalize your wedding invitations even more you can customize your postage too. If the standard ‘love’ postage stamps aren’t what you are looking for, then check out Zazzle.com. Zazzle.com offers a wide variety of special occasion stamps and also gives you the option of creating your own. One sheet of 20 1st class stamps will cost between $19.80 and $22.20. Just when I thought I’d seen it all I stumbled across this site yesterday. These shoes were created to dance in at your wedding reception. Which actually isn’t a bad idea considering your whole mood can change if you are wearing comfortable shoes. Half way during my reception I kicked off my high heels and put on my wedding flip flops and my feet were much happier. I came across these lovely and unique boutonnieres today and had to share them! I wish I had known about these for my own wedding. My poor husband’s boutonniere fell apart doing our wedding reception and in most of our photos he just has a stem stuck to his lapel (which is kind of funny now). A company called Blue Flourish creates these beautiful boutonnieres. They are made with feathers, dried plants, and other ornaments. Blue Flourish also makes corsages and hair accessories so you’re entire wedding party can be decked out in these one of a kind creations!
