Get ready for cuteness overload – I am so excited to share Liz Jahn’s shop, Liddabits, with you today! Liz is a graphic designer located in Atlanta, GA and started Liddabits Design Shop  2 1/2 years ago as an excuse to get out of a creative rut caused by her corporate day job.  She came up with the name Liddabits because it was a nickname her dad used to call her when she was little. Liz always knew was that she wanted to do a-liddabit-a-this and a-liddabit-a-that! Her people-pleasing tendencies (and a secret desire to follow bridal-blogs guilt free) led her to the wonderful world of weddings where she could create customizable, unique pieces in different colors and styles.  Take a look at her lovely work below and a special coupon just for BravoBride readers!

Helping Brides in the Wake of Sandy

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

Hurricane Sandy affected millions of American’s last week and and many are still waiting for electricity and hot water to return. It of course, delayed and impacted thousands of weddings too. We listed some wedding vendors who are offering discounts or donating a percentage to hurricane relief. TheKnot.com also created a Facebook page where brides affected by Sandy can ask for help and other brides can donate items. At times like this it makes you remember that weddings aren’t all about the dress and the flowers but about love, family, friends and being there for each other.

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

When I planned my own wedding, I knew one area I absolutely couldn’t skimp on was photography. This is why I am very happy to introduce our newest sponsor, T Austin Photography. Tyler and Rachael are a husband and wife team based in Washington. Not only do they take amazing photos (which you’ll see below!) but they also help with invitations, hair and makeup on your big day and video. So not only do they make your wedding look beautiful but they make it a heck of a lot easier too!

Tyler and Rachael love being a part of the entire wedding process, from the engagement photos and bridal session, all the way through the wedding day until your final album and wedding photos are in hand. Couples have even called them during the planning process to ask for tips and advice because they know they can trust their professional opinion and experience.

Lots of Bling for A Lot Less

Friday, October 14th, 2011

Just because times are tough doesn’t mean you can’t have the engagement ring of your dreams, much less at an affordable cost. Alternative choices to diamond rings are growing in popularity and Cubic Zirconia is leading the pack. CZs are both beautiful and affordable, and the team at Birkat Elyon is ready to show you top of the line jewelry that will leave you coming back for more!

This is a 3.5 carat princess-cut center accented with pave-set round stones on all three sides of the band.

I love the band on this one! It features a 3.0 carat princess-cut center with 158 small round stones pave-set on a split band.

Birkate Elyon has been specializing in producing the highest quality Cubic Zirconia jewelry for 25 years and offers everything from ready-made pieces to custom designs. With a large selection to choose from, you will see the quality in their work immediately. Hand cut stones are matched with only the finest of metals- solid gold and platinum. Designs range from classic and basic styles for day-to-day wear to extravagant and glamorous designs for special occasions or meaningful gifts.

This 4.0 carat oval cushion is a simulated yellow diamond, surrounded by prong-set round stones. An approximate 4.85 total carat weight and a whole lot of eye candy!

Affordable diamond rings
This beautiful cubic zirconia ring features a 3.5 carat cushion-cut center with 0.50 carat half moon shape-stone on each side. The band is pave-set with brilliant round stones on all sides.

Why choose Cubic Zirconia?
Unlike diamonds and other precious stones, CZs are man made. This means that if you are looking for an eco-friendly alternative to high-end jewelry, such as a diamond engagement ring, CZs are the perfect choice for you. Cubic Zirconia engagement rings have been on the rise in popularity on this issue alone, not to mention the price difference. Their stark resemblance to diamonds and other jewels make them a practical and logical choice for the bride looking for it all – A good price, a brilliant shine, an amazing design, and an environmentally friendly option.

This ring really sparkles and it features a 3.5 carat Asscher-inspired center surrounded by bead-set round stones.

Last by definitely not least, this gorgeous ring features a 2.5 carat brilliant round center surrounded by prong-set round stones.

Birkate Elyon is a team of talented designers and jewelers that have extensive experience in the fine jewelry industry. They produce a product that is top-of-the-line with materials that are also so. Heavy mountings, beautiful stones, well structured designs and amazing customer service makes Birkate Elyon a top provider of fine Cubic Zirconia rings and  jewelry. It’s Time to Modernize Your Wedding!

Friday, July 15th, 2011

The Internet has proven itself to be an easy, cost effective game-changer for the wedding industry so I am so excited to introduce our latest sponsor, Glö. Glö specializes in email wedding invitations and wedding websites. Design options are unlimited and there is no cookie cutter feel. Glö really modernizes today’s wedding and the invitation process. My favorite part is the RSVP tracking and guest list management service. I wish this service had been around for planning my own wedding because keeping up with guest responses was stressful and even confusing.

If you’re wondering how it works, it’s super simple. Just create your own wedding website on Glö, add friends and family to your guest list, create events, customize and send your invite or save the date and then just relax and watch the RSVP’s roll in.

You can even include multiple events such as the rehearsal dinner and post wedding brunch. Not only is it much easier than the tradtional mail-in and mail-back process but it’s also much more cost effective.

Thanks to their paperless process there’s no postage or printing costs which means Glö will save you literally hundreds of dollars on your wedding. Glö’s founders love that each couple has their own personal style which is why they built in lots of features and customization options — including the ability to choose from their range of matching invitations and website designs and the option to upload your own design. Take a look at more of their lovely designs below.

So if you’re ready to step into the 21st wedding century, Glö’s wedding email invitations and websites will make that happen!

Save Money, Time and Even the Environment

Wednesday, November 24th, 2010

When I got married a few years ago I was surprised at the expense of wedding invitations, let alone the postage and the time it took to put them together, address and mail them.  Even with my fiancé’s and bridesmaid’s help it ended up being one of our most daunting wedding tasks.  Which is why I absolutely love this new wedding service, Greenvelope. Greenvelope is a green company that offers a “formal” online wedding invitation service, providing couples an alternative to expensive paper and postage.  Greenvelope’s web-based platform allows couples to send customized wedding invitations to their guests via email with the click of a button.

Greenvelope has a variety of different invitation designs

“People are ready to take advantage of Internet technology during the detailed wedding planning process,” said Sam Franklin, founder and CEO of Greenvelope, which enables users to create guest lists, design invitations, and track responses all electronically.  “Couples are also becoming increasingly aware of the impact large events have on the environment. Paperless invitations are an easy start to a green wedding.”

While one does not open his or her physical mailbox to receive an e-invitation, Greenvelope preserves the hands-on feel by taking advantage of cutting-edge animation technology.  Guests receive a virtual envelope–addressed with calligraphy—in their email inbox.  After being prompted to click, the envelope gracefully opens revealing the invitation components.

Greenvelope is proud to acknowledge other advantages to sending electronic invitations, aside from the cost and environment.  The electronic invitations are far less time consuming and the system allows the user to easily compile a guest list by uploading bulk contacts from an email server.  As invitees RSVP, the guest list will automatically update with the latest response information. For those not ready to make the jump to an electronic invitation, Greenvelope offers an inexpensive electronic “Save the Date” package that showcases the formal animation envelope experience.

Get your green on and save money and a whole lot of time with Greenvelope. Thanks Sam, for helping bring such a valuable service to the wedding industry!
