Fabulous Find – Little Borrowed Dress

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

In 2006 I was a bridesmaid in my sisters wedding. She picked out a tea-length, maroon dress for all seven bridesmaids to wear. We all had to purchase our own, and unfortunately they were not cheap. Five years later, my dress is still hanging in my old room at my parents house. Just like a bride, bridesmaids often have to purchase a dress they will never wear again… this can be a bummer for those in a lot of weddings. Luckily, women are realizing this and are creating new ways to save money for the bride and bridesmaids, women like Corie Hardee.

Find the Ann dress on Little Borrowed Dress for just $75.

Corie Hardee is the founder of Little Borrowed Dress, a site dedicated to renting out bridesmaids dresses. Hardee had the realization that if men could rent tuxes for a night, why couldn’t women rent dresses?

The Eliza dress flatters all shapes and sizes thanks to its adjustable self-tie halter top.

Corie puts it best herself, “I built this business because I think every woman deserves to have the wedding of her dreams, even if that means her closest friends are head-to-toe in periwinkle for the day.  But I also think those said friends shouldn’t have to pay a pretty penny for a dress they will only wear once.  Simply put, keep the style and fun, but add an air of practicality.”

Feminine and flattering without sacrificing comfort, the Joanna wrap dress is conservative but classic.

The Holly is stretch silk charmeuse v-neck dress that's subtle yet very sophisticated.

Offering several designs in up to 12 different colors, LBD gives women a new option when choosing affordable bridesmaids dresses. Want to learn more? Check out her site at LittleBorrowedDress.com to find out pricing and to see if LBD is right for you.

Friday, September 10th, 2010

I just stumbled across some of Ann Taylor’s bridesmaid gowns and was happy to find some that could easily be worn again to a cocktail or holiday party. What do you think, would you wear one of these after a wedding?

This one is super cute but would be hard to hem for us short girls!

This could easily be worn to a cocktail party and the color works for the fall or winter

Wear this one to dinner on a vacation to the beach

Perfect for a New Year's Eve party
