Our Favorite 2011 Celebrity Wedding Dresses

Saturday, December 31st, 2011

There have been a lot of celebrity weddings this year from Reese Witherspoon to Miranda Lambert and of course who could forget Kim Kardashian’s 72 day marriage? Well actually, maybe that’s all something we’d like to forget. So from all the famous 2011 weddings we choose our favorite celebrity bridal gowns. Happy New Year and I can’t wait to see who will get married in 2012!

Molly Sims wore a customized Marchesa wedding dress for her Napa wedding to Scott Stuber this past September.

America Ferrera married her long time boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams in June in this amazing Christos J’Adore wedding gown.

Kate Moss was married this past summer and her vintage style gown by John Galliano received mixed reviews. I personally thought it was beautiful, especially the detailing on the bottom of the skirt.

And how could we not include this Kate too?! Kate Middleton or Catherine, T
he Duchess of Cambridge, as she is now called wore this iconic wedding dress by Sarah Burton.

Our last pick was this c
ustom St. Pucchi bridal gown from Candice Crawford and Tony Romo’s May 2011 wedding. It’s definitely a memorable and unique dress!

Celebrity Wedding Dresses: The Good & The Bad

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

We idolize celebrities. We rely on them to set the trends in which we follow, but sometimes even their judgment is questionable. Below is a compilation of several beautiful celebrity wedding dresses as well as several bad and just plain ugly celebrity wedding dresses that will leave you saying, “Maybe it’s time to trust my own judgment for wedding attire.” Enjoy!

marcia cross wedding gown
Marcia Cross glowed in this Reem Acra gown. Don’t you love the photo with her veil over the flower girls?!

Hillary Duff was divine in Vera Wang. An ivory wedding dress is always an elegant choice.

We get a two for one with this wedding. Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi wore designer Zac Possen. Both are beautiful and fitting for this fanciful wedding.

This “No Doubt tribute” wedding gown was designed by John Galliano for Gwen Stefani. This dres may be considered bad by some but I personally like it and how much it suits Gwen’s style.

Time for the Bad…

Nicole Richie had multiple Marchesa gowns. I was not a big fan of the collars and sleeves, too 1980′s for me. However, my marketing intern Gabi liked this one, which just goes to show how style is selective.

Gabi and I both love the embroidery on the sleeve. Such a beautiful touch!

Celine Dion wedding dress
Of course we had to mention Celine Dion. Her wedding garbe is infamous! In 1994 Mirella and Sege Gentil designed this gown that took over 1,000 hours to complete. It had a 20ft train and if that wasn’t enough to handle, Celine wore a seven-pound tiara made of 2,000 Austrian Crystal. Whoa.

Jada Pickett wedding dress
On the opposite of Celine is Jada Pinkett-Smith who wore this concealing Badgley Mischka gown when she and The Fresh Prince tied the knot.

Britney Spears is known for her past mistakes, and this reception dress one is certainly one of them. Although her Monique L’Huillier gown during the ceremony was elegant, it certainly countered the risky business she wore for the reception.

pamela anderson wedding gown
Where some brides make the mistake of making everything to big, Pam Anderson makes the mistake of wearing something too small. Pam wore a white Melissa Odabash Bikini for her wedding to Kid Rock.

Princess Diana’s Wedding Champagne to be Auctioned

British designers Elizabeth & David Emanuel created Diana's famous gown

This is going to be some expensive champagne! A bottle of 1961 vintage Dom Perignon champagne that was used at Britain’s Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s wedding will be auctioned off soon.

The 1961 vintage Dom Perignon had been selected for the wedding because it was the year Diana was born.

James Grinter of auction house Reeman Dansie said, “It is very rare to find a Royal Wedding bottle of 1961 Dom Perignon because it was a strictly limited release and even rarer to find it still sealed in its original box.”

Evidently only 99 bottles of the vintage – regarded as one of the finest ever produced – were shipped across from the France’s Champagne region for the wedding.

All the bottles are believed to have been consumed at the Buckingham Palace reception, but a similar boxed and sealed bottle was sold in 2004.

As much as I love champagne, this would be one bottle I could never open.

Something’s In The Air

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

It has been a busy couple days for celebrities and their unions. Just this last weekend there were three celebrity weddings; hopefully we can get some good tips.

jamie presley wedding

My Name is Earl” actress Jamie Pressly married entertainment lawyer Simran Singh this past Saturday in Malibu. Jamie’s dress was by British designer Jenny Packham. Pressly told Redbook in March, “I’d like to be with somebody who isn’t afraid to take care of me – whether they have the same financial means as me or not.” Their ceremony was held at the Dick Clark estate which was also the site of Adam Sandler’s wedding in 2003.

Khloe Kardashian WeddingLA Laker Lamar Odom and reality star Khloe Kardashian wed in Beverly Hills this past Sunday night after a month long courtship. Kardashian wore a Vera Wang gown and the bridal party wore lavender dresses and carried bouquets of white roses. Their recepetion consisted of a four course dinner and had a night club theme. It’s impressive they were able to pull all this off in so little time.

claire danes weddingClaire Danes and Hugh Dancy reportedly wed in a secret wedding in France recently. That’s all we can say about this one but good for them for keeping it personal and under the paparazzi radar.
