Our featured bride is super sweet Renee M. from San Antonio, Texas. She sold her Oleg Cassini wedding dress on BravoBride and was kind enough to share her story and wedding with us.

Renee wore a princess style Oleg Cassini gown.
When you were shopping for a dress, what were you looking for in style?
When I was shopping for a dress, I knew I wanted a full princess style floor length dress. I also knew that I looked best in halter styles. I chose an Oleg Cassini gown from David’s Bridal. I found the dress I wanted rather quickly with the help of my maid of honor Karen; it was amazing how quickly I found it and just knew it was the one by the look on Karen’s face and the faces of the strangers at the store around me.

I love how they used several different types of cakes.
Why did you decide to sell your wedding dress?
After my baby girl was a few months old, I knew I wanted to sell my dress. I knew that it would just age in my closet, and I’m pretty sure my daughter will one day want her own gown in her own style. I wanted someone else to experience their precious wedding day memories in my beautiful gown, rather than have it sit in the dark in the closet for decades. The extra money was helpful as well after having a baby.

Renee celebrating with her wedding guests. Could she look any happier?!
Would you recommend selling a used wedding gown to other brides?
I would absolutely recommend to other brides to sell their wedding dress for the financial sense of it and the rewarding feeling you get knowing another bride will get use out of your gown as she makes it her own, on one of the biggest days of her life.

Where and when did you get married?
Matthew and I got married May 24, 2008 at Shepherd of Hills Lutheran Church in San Antonio, TX.
What was your favorite part of your day?
My most endearing memory of that special day was reciting my vows to Matt and hearing them recited back by him. The energy of that moment was like silent thunder in my ears, as a warm feeling of genuine sentiment and joy pulsed through me. My second favorite part was appearing in the arch way that led to the aisle where Matt was waiting at the end with the Pastor. I knew his eyes were on me, taking in the sight of me in my gown that he heard so many hints about, but had never seen. Taking my Dad’s arm as he led me down the aisle to Matt was a very special moment for me, because Matt is the kind of man my parents had always hoped for me.
