5 Unique Rides to Leave Your Wedding In Style

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

After you’ve said “I Do” and it’s time to head to your reception, how you get there can be a great way to show off your fun side. Instead of the traditional limo or bus, take a look at these unique ideas to see if you could put a fun twist on the saying “going out in style.”

1. Tuk Tuk: This fun little cart is also known as an auto rickshaw. It is a three wheeled cabin cycle that can be pulled, driven like a bicycle or is motorized. They are becoming more and more popular in the western culture as a way to get around in busy urban areas, but have been a form of transportation for decades in many other countries. Check out these.

2. Barbie Dream Hearse: Yes, you read right, a hearse! This Seattle based company vamped up a 1992 Cadillac Brougham Superior hearse and turned it into a ride Barbie herself would be pumped to ride in. The back fits about seven people and both men and women have enjoyed a jaunt around the block in her. The Barbie Dream Hearse is definitely an interesting way to exit your church parking lot from a wedding.

rocket car

3. The Euclid Beach Rocket Car: This fun looking ride was just that way back in the day, a fun ride! The Rocket Car was created from an authentic space rocket swing ride that was used until about 1969. Having a passion for unique and custom cars, Ron Heitman took the rocket swing and turned it into what you see today. The car itself it 28 feet long and can fit 10 adults comfortably- perfect for fitting your bridal party!

Ferrari limo

4. Ferrari Limo: Watch out ladies, your hubby might drool over this one. A Ferrari F1360 Moderna was literally cut in half to create this beauty. If it’s your dream to ride in a Ferrari, now is your chance—and since this Ferrari fits seven, you can even bring a few friends along for the ride.

wedding motorcycle
5. Motorcycle with Side Car:
Although it can only fit two, a motorcycle and side car is a pretty adorable way for a bride and groom to get around. Not only can you rent them, but if you’re lucky you can find some fun ones out there. Check out what your area has to offer and you could be left with an exceptional ride out!

Groom’s Guide to Renting a Limo

Guys love cars so it should come as no surprise that planning wedding day transportation is a favorite wedding duty of grooms.

Whether it’s a stretch limo or even a classic Bentley or Rolls Royce, grooms are getting more creative with riding in style on the big day. Here are a few tips on making sure the booking process goes as smooth as possible:

  • Plan ahead – Know how many people will be riding along and compare that with how many can legally ride in the limo. You’ll also need to tell the limo service how far you’ll be going and the scheduled arrival/departure times.
  • Research your ride – Take special care to research all of the different styles/models of limos that are offered. You’re only getting married once (hopefully), so get it right! If you’re feeling generous, ask your fiancé for input.
  • Get an estimate – Get a copy of the quoted estimate. You should have planned out a wedding budget, so you’ll need to know what you’ll be charged for the rental, mileage, and gratuity.
  • Reserve early – Limos book up fast (especially in the busy spring wedding season). We recommend booking a minimum of three months in advance.
  • Take note of safety issues – Confirm that the limo service you’re using is insured and abides by all state/national laws for car services. It’s smart to get a copy of their insurance and liability info as well.
  • Add a special touch – If you’re planning on having the limo arrive with drinks or flowers already in it, talk to the limo company about any specials they offer or how you can get them the items in advance to the wedding day.

Thanks to Chris Easter from The Man Registry for this great limo advice!
