I made and wore this dress for my son's wedding (so wore once). In brand new condition-machine gentle or hand washable. I really took my time making this dress and paid a lot of attention to details that I often ignore when I sew. I believe you'll agree that it is well made when you see it in person. It's really hard for me to say what size it would be called if you bought it in a store. If you're not familiar with sewing patterns, they are usually not the size you where from a store. If you are close to the measurements I've provided below, and are interested, then please contact me and I will give you any other measurements or pictures that you need OR if you happen to live in the Bozeman MT area you can try it on when you come look at it.
The top is fitted, lined, zips in the back (separating zipper like a coat). For the picture and on a hanger, I had to pin it to stay closed but you don't have to do that when you where it. Bust size is 42". When you wash the top it can be hung up right away without pressing it.
The skirt is made of the same material with a sheer, tiny and slightly sparkly dots? (much smaller than sequence and they won't fall off!) overlay. So it's not lined, but it's two layers. The waist measures 36" which. My hips are 42" and it was very roomy for me. The skirt is 40 1/2" long. Below the zipper, it has a nice pleat in the back, which I top-stitched so it would stay laying flat. The pattern shows it with a slight train on the back. I did NOT do it that way since I wore it as a Mother-of-the-Groom dress (it's all the same length). When you wash the skirt, it does require steam ironing.
