This gown is white, a-line, sweetheart neckline with a very elegant and tasteful pattern of beading and silver-thread embroidery that literally covers the entire dress in a word, it's gorgeous (detail work is on a sheer layer that lays on top of the satin body of the dress). It didn't need any alterations as it fit me like a glove thanks to it's supremely well-designed interior corset structure I took it to one of the best custom-gown seamstresses in New York City for the bustling (no alterations were needed at all) and even she was amazed by the quality and craftmanship of this gown, particularly it's detailing and the inner corset itself. We did a very beautiful custom version of a double french bustle, somehow this is the best photo i have of it (?) but it is not as complicated as you'd think, the seamstress used different colored threads and we have a little set of instructions for the order in which you tie the ties inside the train to create the bustle. My mother and sister did it in about 3-5 minutes and it's not as hard as it looks! My 93 year old grandmother told me "I have been to a lot of weddings in my life and this is the most beautiful dress I've evah SEEN!" and she is not one to flatter. I find that for a curvy woman such as myself this design was the most flattering (and I tried on a LOT of dresses!) the sweetheart neckline and A-line skirt (with the added smoothing and slimming of the waist with the corset) both contribute to accentuating a woman's hourglass figure and you will feel like a princess sparkling in the sunshine or candlelight of your wedding festivities... The train is long and suitable for any church or cathedral it too (the WHOLE DRESS) is covered with this layer of patterned detailing the silver thread embroidery and beadwork form a very vintage looking pattern that evokes a 1920's hollywood gown. I would keep it but let's face it it takes up a lot of room and I love the idea that this dress could give another curvy girl like me the same feeling of being so beautiful on their wedding day. It's really a dream dress. It was worth every penny and seeing as it was professionally cleaned right after the wedding it is basically in perfect like-new condition, ready to make another bride cry tears of joy... Measurements below are based on my body measurements when i wore the dress, which fit perfectly, like a glove. I would guess it could accomodate bigger breasts and look even more fabulous with some more cleavage...It probably sucked me into around 31-32" at the waist from my natural 33-34", i don't know, but it was very comfortable and smooth looking, no other undergarments necessary, though I will also send you the crinoline skirt I used with the dress (though it has a more minimal crinoline built in and would look stunning without it, I preferred the poofier appearance with the added crinoline). This dress will make someone extremely happy, this I know. I can't find the model # (it must have been on the paper tags, which i didn't have the wherewithal to save) on the interior tag, which just says Mori Lee... but I do remember looking it up on the internet the day I bought it to find out if I had gotten a decent deal on it and I only found it in one shop in England, so I know this dress is a rare model.

When my husband saw me walking towards the ceremony from afar he said I was sparkling in the sunshine and that the effect was truly breathtaking... I think my favorite moments were during our first dance, being in the middle of the dancefloor surrounded by all our friends and family, feeling my big beautiful skirt swoosh around and confidently having my portraits taken knowing how good my figure looked in the dress...

Professionally cleaned right after sept. 09 wedding, hung nicely in my mother's house ever since.
