How do I get started?

Shopping on BravoBride for used wedding items is simple. Just select from the list of categories on the left of the screen to begin your search. Within each category you can use our Advanced Search feature to find exactly what you need. For a more general search, simply enter the name of the item you're looking for in the search field at the top of the homepage.

Does BravoBride facilitate payment and make shipping arrangements between the buyer and the seller?

No, those details are entirely up to the buyer and seller for each transaction. Two recommended services are PayPal and Google Checkout. Remember, it's never a good idea to send wire transfers, money orders or cashier's checks.

Why would I want to buy used wedding dresses or any other used wedding items?

On BravoBride you can get a beautiful, briefly-worn dress for hundreds or thousands less than you would pay for a new dress. And while you're saving money, you're also reducing your environmental impact by re-using a pre-owned dress and other wedding items.

Is there a BravoBride retail store?

No, BravoBride is exclusively online. The truth is, we couldn't have a retail store even if we wanted to—we carry more wedding items than any walk-in store possibly could. So enjoy the great selection and prices!

Can I trust the seller?

The overwhelming majority of sellers on BravoBride are legitimate and trustworthy. But don't be shy about asking your seller detailed questions about the item you're interested in, such as:
When did the seller acquire the item, and did they buy it new or used?
Is there proof that the item is authentic?
Are there any problems or imperfections with the item?
If the item is a dress, has it been altered in any way?

Also, you should also know the following about the seller:
-Name
-Steet address
-Phone number
-Email address

Remember, when it comes to making payment, use an online payment service like PayPal or Google Checkout. Don't wire cash, send a money order or a cashier's check!

A few more tips:

  • Be alert for sellers who ask you to pay using a method not mentioned in the listing. If a seller demands cash by wire transfer after you contact them, cancel the transaction and let BravoBride know.
  • Sending money to pay for purchases through instant cash wire transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram is always risky, because you have no recourse if you don't get your item.
  • Escrow services like Escrow.com release your money to the seller only when you receive your item. That's why we think escrow is a good way to complete your purchases. But beware of fake escrow companies on the Internet.

How can I determine what size wedding dress I need?

Every designer sizes their dresses a little differently. If you're buying a new wedding dress that's never been altered, take a look at our sizing chart to see the measurements for each designer. Remember that bridal dresses often run larger than what you would normally wear. For extra assurance, you might also want to try on the same dress at a local bridal shop to see what size fits you best.

If you're interested in an altered dress, try to get the new measurements from the seller.

What if I can't reach the seller?

First, give your seller enough time to get to your email and respond. If you don't hear back then we recommend trying them again. If you still don't get a reply, send us an email with the name of the items in question and their identification numbers. We have additional contact information for the seller and can let them know you're trying to get in touch.

Why shouldn't I just sell my wedding items at a garage sale or on an auction site?

There are many reasons why selling your items on BravoBride makes more sense than using a free listing service or auction site. Here are some things to consider:

  • BravoBride is totally focused on wedding items. Your customers won't have to wade through listings for washing machines and computer monitors to find your products.
  • BravoBride is visited by exactly the clientele you want to reach—brides and their families shopping for their wedding.
  • Unlike auction sites, where listings are removed after short-term countdowns, or other sites, where listings can disappear after seven days, on BravoBride your listings stay live until they sell.
  • BravoBride offers a range of features. For example:

How do I set my prices?

As the seller, you decide what your prices will be. But here are some guidelines you might find helpful:

  • A discontinued style of dress should be priced lower than designer items still in stores. 
  • For new items, 25% off the retail price is a good idea.
  • The older the item, the greater the discount. For a dress that's five years old or older, for example, 60% off the original retail price would be appropriate.
  • For worn items, we recommend a 50% deduction from the retail price.

Can I edit my listings after they're posted online?

Absolutely. If you want to change the information in your listings or upload new photos, simply log in and go to the View/Edit Listings link in My BravoBride. You can edit your listing unlimited times.

How many images can I upload?

You can upload eight images per listing and you can login and edit your images anytime.

Is there a recommended format for images?

BravoBride accepts JPEG, GIF and PNG file formats. Photos much be 2000 pixels x 2000 pixels or smaller. Don't worry about cropping your photos—we'll take care of that for you so it fits your listing.

How long will my items be listed?

Your items will remain on BravoBride until they sell!

How do I remove my listing after an item is sold?

Login to BravoBride and go to the MyBravoBride section. Click on the View/Edit Listed Items link under Seller. Choose "remove" from the drop down menu under the action tab. Your item will be marked as sold and deleted in two business days.

How long does it take an item to sell?

It all depends on the type of item, its condition, your price, and market demand. But there are some things you can do to make your items more likely to sell. For example, writing a great description, submitting more than one photo, and pricing your items competitively will catch the attention of more buyers.

How do brides hear about BravoBride?

We actively advertise online and offline within the bridal and event planning community.  As a result BravoBride is quickly establishing a reputation as one of the best and most user-friendly wedding sites. That means more buyers for your items.

Can I list items other than my wedding dress?

Absolutely! You're welcome to list any item that a bride might need for her wedding. That includes wedding dresses but also jewelry, accessories, ceremony and reception items, wedding favors and more.

Can I advertise new, unworn or unused items too?

We encourage you to list brand new items that you didn't use as well as gently worn items on BravoBride—doing so gives brides even more choices.

Do you protect my email address?

Your privacy is extremely important to us. BravoBride does not sell or rent your email address to anyone. When buyers contact you initially, they do so through the BravoBride Web site and never see your email address (although buyers will see your address when you reply to them).

How do I know if a buyer is for real?

The vast majority of BravoBride customers are legitimate, but it pays to be cautious and use common sense when dealing with a buyer. A few things to keep in mind:

  • Don't accept wire transfers, money orders or cashier's checks. Use only online payment programs such as Escow.com, PayPal or Google Checkout.
  • Don't accept payment in excess of your purchase price—this is a huge red flag.

Be on the alert for signs of a scammer:

  • The buyer is eager to buy immediately without asking any questions about the item
  • Poor spelling and grammar
  • Often have overseas addresses
  • The buyer wants to pay via wire transfer, money order or cashier's check, and use a third party shipper.

Please notify BravoBride if you encounter any buyers who seem suspicious—do not reply to them or agree to sell anything to them.
