Summer starts in just two days! We’re super excited about summer fun and events such as neighborhood block parties and street parades. Strolling down boardwalk wedding lane (see our last post about boardwalk weddings here) got us thinking about carnivals. A carnival themed wedding is such a fun idea. You can set your wedding at an actual fairgrounds or recreate it yourself. Ride a merry-go-round and nosh on elephant ears, all while wearing your big white dress. Take a look at some of these cute carnival wedding ideas.
1. Red, White, and Pink
Decorating for a carnival themed wedding is a breeze. Stick to colors such as red, white, and pink. If you’re looking for more colors think primary colors like red, blue, and yellow. A roll of tickets and paper popcorn bags are really inexpensive wedding decorations, though we think you should splurge on a custom bunting banner.
2. Carnival Games
Set up classic carnival games like ball toss, darts, and skeeball. Or have other fun activities like bocce ball and ladder golf.
3. Kissing Booth
A carnival wedding is only complete with a kissing booth. It’s great as decor and even as a photobooth.
4. Photo Booth
Or even set up a basic photo booth for silly pictures. For true fun, give your guests control of the camera.
5. Cotton Candy
Mmm…cotton candy. Bring out your inner child to brainstorm food ideas like corn dogs, roasted corn, and root beer floats.
6. Caramel Apple
For sweet wedding favors, give out jars of caramel apples and caramel apple butter. Carnival prizes are fun too like balloons, pinwheels, and toys.
For a memorable wedding full of fun and games, go for a carnival theme. Head to a real fairgrounds or throw in your own backyard. All you need are the right decorations like a kissing booth and games like ball toss. What are your favorite carnival games?
