This past year was a big one for many celebrity weddings. This makes us happy because we love to look back on the beautiful gowns they wore. With designers of their choosing there is no wonder why these gowns are amazingly beautiful and some of our favorites!
The fairy tale gown -Anne Hathaway- Valentino
In September, Anne Hathaway wed in a sunset ceremony in California’s scenic Big Sur. Valentino’s custom creation for Anne Hathaway’s wedding featured a graceful off-the-shoulder neckline. The headpiece absolutely fabulous – added the final touch to this Cinderella gown.
Tea Length Gown – Natalie Portman – Rodarte
Love Natalie Portman’s choice of a tea length gown designed by Rodarte. Rodarte is the label run by Portman’s pals, sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy. The trio has been friends for years, Natalie wed in August.
Couture Gown – Margherita Missoni – Collaboration w/Giambattista Valli
Margherita Missoni, heiress to her family’s Missoni fashion house, got married in June in a Giambattista Valli wedding dress. It was collaboration between the designer, her mother and her self. I would say this collaboration was a winner. It is a beautiful silk and organza off-the-shoulder gown with lovely detailed flower applique.
Lovely in lace Gown – Colbie Smulders – Claire Pettibone
For her big trip down the aisle, actress Cobie Smulders opted for a lacy, low-backed gown designed by Los Angeles-based couturier Claire Pettibone. It was a September wedding in Solvang, California.
Pretty in Pink Gown – Jessica Biel – Giambattista Valli
Jessica was the gal who took a chance on color and we love it! It was a pink wedding dress for her October nuptials. The wedding took place at the picturesque Borgo Egnazia resort in Puglia, Italy.
Mermaid Gown- Ines Di Santo- Courtney Mazza
Courtney wore a custom gown by Ines Di Santo when she married Mario Lopez this year. Their daughter was by her side as they walked the aisle in December on a quaint beach in Mexico.
Classic Gown – Caroline Trentini – Oliver Theyskens
For this final gown I must say, I felt like I was looking at royalty. There is something very reminiscent about this modern and traditional gown. Brazilian fashion model Caroline Trentini, wed in Itajaí, Santa Catarina last spring. The dress was designed by Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens.
