After some research, I have found that this heels versus flats debate is becoming a big problem for brides! Some argue that flats make more sense because they are comfortable and easy to walk in. Others say that heels need to be worn because they make your legs look longer and help keep good posture. But what really is it? Heels are really great for a number of reasons. First of all, I would argue that most wedding shoes are in some sort of white heel. They make your legs and bottom look longer and fuller, and they fix your posture. We also should remember that heels don’t have to be 6 inches tall. You can get 1-2inch low wedges that will still be extremely comfortable.

The downside to heels are that yes, they can be uncomfortable especially if you are wearing them for 4-5+ hours. And the main argument I hear people say is that why do they even need heels if the shoes aren’t even showing because of the long dress? This is a very very good argument because if you’re already a tall woman, heels just don’t seem to be necessary.

Now we have flats/sandals! These shoes are going to be great for the bride who just wants to be comfortable. No one is going to see you shoes anyways so why does it matter? Furthermore, even though most wedding shoes are low/high heeled style, you still can find very cute flats or sandals that are fancy enough for your beautiful dress.

My personal opinion is…do both!! Wear your nice heels for the ceremony and pictures so that you still get that elegant touch. And then during the reception, change into your flats!! That way you will have maximum comfort during the dinner and on the dance floor and won’t feel the need to go barefoot for your whole reception.
