We’ve all heard the phrase in reference to bridesmaids dresses, “The best part is you can totally wear this again!” but honestly, how often have you worn that chiffon creation since your friend said, “I do?” We’ve put together some ideas on how you can actually work a leftover bridesmaid dress into your everyday wardrobe. With fun accessories even the most formal bridesmaid dresses can become über wearable and fashion forward!
We pulled this first look together with pieces almost entirely from macy’s. From the original bridesmaid dress, to the fabulous bag, these pieces are easy to find and most of them highly affordable! To tone down the formal feel of the floor-length gown, we added a belt and fun pair of wedges. Add a light Chambray button down tied at the waist, and all that’s left is a fun statement necklace to compliment the vibrant gown. We think this look is perfect for Sunday brunch with the girls or a casual summer date night.
This next look comes to you from the collections at Banana Republic. Starting with a simple yet elegant bridesmaid dress, we softened the look with sophisticated neutrals and an elegant light wrap sweater. But our favorite part of this is the fun play on classic pearls! The necklace and bracelet are traditional yet fun and modern! Perhaps this would work for dinner with the in-laws or even a
church or PTA event.
Last but not least we revamped this Ann Taylor one shoulder bridesmaid dress to be 100% date night worthy! With sexy strappy heels and fun gold accessories you can knock ’em dead in this fabulous look. One of our personal favorite parts of this is the fun little clutch – just the right size to fit your touch up essentials. After all, a glam outfit deserves some all over glamour! Maybe a smokey eye or bright red lip could complete this look.
So next time you open your closet and think you have nothing to wear, you might just want to bring out that old bridesmaid dress after all.
