Where to Find Meghan Markle’s Second Wedding Dress
Last May, Meghan Markle wowed in her simple, boat-neck wedding dress. Traditional, tasteful, and completed with a veil bordered in lace, this dress has quickly become one of our favorite royal wedding gowns. However, we loved Markle’s reception dress even more!
The unembellished white silk, sheath cut, and halter neckline gave the dress a minimalist, modern style that both incorporated and departed from traditional royal gowns – chic, classy, and absolutely gorgeous! Our next thought? Where can we get one?!
Unfortunately for us non-royals, the gown was designed specially for Markle by Stella McCartney. Nevertheless, there are many wedding dresses for us mere mortals that have the same style, elements, and elegance. Read on to find out where you can find some amazing lookalikes!
White by Vera Wang High Neck Halter Wedding Dress
Our first pick is this lovely gown from David’s Bridal. This dress incorporates all of the main elements of Markle’s reception dress – the halter neckline, the sheath cut, the train, the simple white silk – it’s all there. However, there are also a few extra additions to this dress that really caught our eye. We are captured by the way the structure in the bodice creates a sleek and graceful shape, and how the silk sash, an understated but elegant detail, embellishes the gown while preserving its simplicity. Overall, this gown captures almost exactly the same cut and style as Markle’s without the fuss of a personal designer.
Alfred Angelo
Our next pick is this Alfred Angelo, sold here on BravoBride. Although this gown doesn’t include a halter neckline, it does have the same sleek, modern style of Markle’s gown. The fabric of the dress is unembellished, save for a row of silk covered buttons down the back, preserving the gown’s elegance and simplicity. In addition, this dress also features a similar flowing train and fitted shape, mimicking Markle’s own gown. This dress preserves the essence of Markle’s dress with a slight twist on the design – perfect for a bride looking to keep the style of Markle’s gown but ditch the halter neckline.
Allure Bridals Style 3162
A more glamorous take on Markle’s gown, this dress features a similar cut with some sparkly beading. The dress copies the elegant shape and simple fabric of Markle’s gown, keeping its modern, sophisticated look. However, the embellished border of the neckline gives the dress extra originality and glitz. If you’re looking to preserve the shape of Markle’s gown while adding your own unique details, this dress is an excellent choice.
2018 Atelier Pronovias RABEL
Absolutely stunning. This dress is perhaps the furthest departure from Markle’s reception dress, sporting an asymmetric neck line and dazzling shoulder embellishments. However, many of our favorite elements are still there. The cut, train, and unembellished fabric keeps with Markle’s elegant style, while the detailing at the back and shoulder keep the dress some added splendor. This dress can be found here on BravoBride, and is a great way to incorporate components of Markle’s dress in your own while preserving your own unique style.
